Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed his belief that the current national executives of the NDC surpass their counterparts in the New Patriotic Party (NPP). According to him, the executives of the NDC have overshadowed those of the governing party.

During an interview on the Sunrise Show with Johnnie Hughes on 3FM, Dr. Otokunor pointed out that the National Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Stephen Ntim, does not possess the same influence as Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Chair of the NDC.

Regarding the recent NDC parliamentary and presidential primaries, Dr. Otokunor expressed confidence in the elected candidates’ chances of winning, even before the NPP has chosen its candidates.

Dr. Otokunor emphasized that when comparing the NDC and NPP on a head-to-head basis, the NDC clearly stands out. He claimed that the NPP pales in comparison to the NDC at the national level, from the flagbearer to the national chairman, general secretary, and other positions.

He specifically highlighted the stature of General Mosquito (Asiedu Nketia), the NDC’s General Secretary, and suggested that there is no politician in Ghana who can be compared to him. Dr. Otokunor urged a comparison between the NDC’s general secretary and the NPP’s general secretary to see the distinction.

He also urged a closer look at the list of NDC parliamentary candidates, suggesting that it further demonstrates the NDC’s strength.

All in all, Dr. Otokunor’s comments highlight his belief that the NDC’s current national executives overshadow their NPP counterparts, giving the NDC a strong advantage going forward.
